He was born on 14 May 1904 in Ohatchee, Calhoun Co., AL. Home in Alexander City and formerly of Montgomery, AL, died Friday, January 29, 1993, in Alex- ander City, AL. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 31, 1993, at 3:30 p.m. from Leak-Memory Chapel with Ministers Rex A. Turner and Reginald Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Survi- vors include his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Lessie Sirmon Bennett, Alexander City, AL; two sons, Rufus E. Bennett, Opelika, AL and Fred H. Bennett, Bir- mingham, AL; two sisters; six grand- children and one great-grandson. Mr. Bennett was a Veteran of WWII and a retired M/Sgt.
