Cynthia Christopher, Native of Chatom, Ala, but a resident of Semmes,Ala for a 
number of years, died at the residence Wednesday at 6:30 o'clock. She is 
survived by her husband Phillip Christopher, Five sons, Daniel, P.G., L.J., of 
Semmes, Ala, and W.H of Orchard, Ala and J.R. of Dawes, Ala. one daughter Mrs. 
G.W. Cobb of Semmes, Ala; a number of grandchildren and other relatives. Her 
funeral took place from the family home at Semmes, Thursday afternoon at 3 
o'clock with the Rev. W.H. Evans of the Semmes Baptist Church conducting the 
service.The following acted as pallbearers;Harry C.Brooke,Willie Christopher, 
_ _ die Christopher, Henry Pollard, _ Cox, and Roy Thompson. Interment was in 
the cemetary at Semmes, with Roche mortuary in charge.

Cynthia Ann Gulledge Christopher was b.5/1848 in Benton or Cherokee Co,Ala.
(1860)Census Cherokee Co, Dist 1,. She m. Phillip. P. Christopher 12/01/1867 
in Calhoun Co, AL. she was the daughter of Henry Elijah Gulledge b. abt 1815 
SC,& Charity Finley b.abt 1820 SC. she had at least 9 siblings. Uriah, John, 
Aaron, MJ, Nancy, Mary, Jackson,Evy,& Robert.Her father Henry and brother 
Aaron both died in the Civil War. She and Phillip were married 62yrs.
