A resident of Calhoun County all her life, she had lived at Alexandria before moving to her last home some 20 years ago. Mrs. Hammonds was one of the oldest members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The body will lie at the residence of a son, Jim Hammonds, at Melfrose, until time of the services. Funeral services will be conducted at Mr. Zion Church Friday aternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Revs. Barney Ford and Herman Henry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey in charge. Survivors include four sons, John and Jim of Alexandria, and Frank and Pink Hammonds, of Leyden's Mill; four daughters, Mrs. Nathan Owens and Mrs. Dewey Brimer, of Alexandria; Mrs. E. K. Thompson of Halls Chapel and Mrs. Carl Bryant, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Sally Burns, Halls Chapel; one brother, Sonny Griffin, of Rabbittown; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Strickland, Allen Hurst, Larris Ponder, Dan Kirby, Earl Meddars, Horace Henderson, Forney Watson, Wallace Woodruff, J. O.
