Long was near three score and ten, having embraced religion in early life. Lived to honor the profession he had made and to add more luster to his Christian warfare. We quote from Bro. Hood that he was superintendent of Sabbath School for twenty years, during which time he only lost two Sabbaths. He married the daughter of Rev. E. T. Smyth, of Anniston. Ala. left a devoted wife and a number of children to mourn his loss. His purpose, were a fixture, earnestly and zealously contended for the faith once delivered to the saints. While we with sorrowful hearts mourn the loss of our dear brethren, especially the great loss to the bereaved families, to whom we tender our heartfelt sympathy in this their great affection and direct them for comfort to him who doeth all things well.
