STATE News

From a special dispatch to the Rome Bulletin, dated the 8th inst., we learn 
that on that day that Otis Matterson, his brother and father, while building a 
house, one mile from Oxford, Alabama, were struck by lightning. Otis was 
instantly killed and the recovery of the father and brother is doubtful.
