Roberts James R. Roberts, 54 of 225 Main St., Oxford, died unexpectedly Tuesday at 1:20 A.M., at the University Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held today at 3 P.M., at Usrey Chapel with the Revs. James H. Butler and Charles Martin officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery with Gray Brown - Service Mortuary in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Daisy Roberts; two sister, Mrs. Baker Wingfield of Bethesda, Md., and Miss Mary Roberts of Oxford, and a niece and a nephew. Pallbearers will be Charles Ragan, Clayton Walker, Joe Walker, John Lott, Jack Pruett and George Lacey. Honorary pallbearers will be H.E McWhorter, Dr. Frank Caffey, Jr., Judge W .C. Bibb, Earl Clark, Herbert Willaims, Logan Taylor, Jim Mallory. A.A. Hamric, Col. Earl Richard, Peyton Lacey, Jim Swift and W.O. Walden. Mr. Roberts had lived all his life in Calhoun County. He was a retired employee of Anniston Army Depot. A member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford, he was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
