Mrs. Sara Arrie Roberts, 97, of 1014 Corbin St., Oxford, will be Wednesday at 2 
p.m. at Oxford City Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Starling officiating and Miller 
Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 
6 to 9 tonight. Mr. Roberts died today at Golden Springs Health Care Center. 
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ethelyn Gaines, Mrs. Evelyn Owens and 
Mrs. Dorothy Dempsey, all of Oxford; seven grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; 
and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gerald Owen, Billy 
Dempsey, Leroy Gaines, Danial Huckaby, Eugene Morrison, Aaron Lee Pate, Anthony 
Pate and Hinton Gaines. Mrs. Roberts was a Calhoun County resident most of her 
life. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was preceded in death by 
her husband, Roy Roberts.

Sarah Arizonia "Arrie" Louisa Ayres-Roberts was born Nov 30, 1893, in Cleburne 
County Alabama, she was the daughter of Patrick Jeptha Ayres and Martha Eugenia 
Currie. She married Lee Roy Roberts. They were the parents of three daughters.
