Anniston Star
The Rev. Grover C. Shaddix, age 65, died suddenly Sunday while taking part on a 
program at Macedonia Baptist Church. He had been a active minister in Cleburne 
and Clay Counties for 41 years. He had moved to Anniston from Delta several 
years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon 2 o'clock at New Hope 
Baptist Church and burial was in Four-Mile Cemetery in Cleburne County. The 
Revs. Bob Stewart, Ray Till, Harlice Keown and Sherman Harper officiated with 
Usrey Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Pearl Shaddix; 
three sons, J.J and J. C. Shaddix, both of Saks and L. V. Shaddix of Mobile; two 
daughters, Mrs. Mildred Coleman of Anniston and Mrs. Betty Burrell of Mobile; a 
brother, C. J. Shaddix of Anniston; two sisters, Mrs. M. L. Powell of Alexandria 
and Mrs. Vera Bolden of 11 grandchildren and one1 great grandchild.
