War Soldier) and Jane Fussellin War of 1812. Came to Chambers Co. 1833 with second wifeJane McMillanfrom Fayette Co., GA. Had one son, George McMillan Strotherb. 1835. He m. Elizabeth M. HardyChambers Co.1859 - They had 3 ch.; James William - 1860-1938 - m. Mattie Davis GardnerChambers Co., he was a lawyer in Tallapoosa Co. and later Circuit Judge, they had 5 ch.; t2) George died at Camp Chase, OhioP.O.W. Camp; (3) James Herschel 1896-1966m. Elizabeth Ellen Wright 1905- June 6, 1925 in Virginia. (Mrs. Betty W. Strother Mrs. James Herschel Strother). From; Lee County and Her Forebears Ed byAlexander Nunn "George Strother married Elizabeth M. Hardy, February 17, 1859. Their son James William Strother was bom here January 4, 1860 (James later became attomey, Alabama Congressman and Senator). At the age of 84, circa 1860 Aaron and Jane (George's parents) moved to Arkansas with George and his family. Aaron died Sept. 1861 in Camden, Arkansas. After his fathers death, George retumed to Chambers county then joined the CSA. He was a Private in Company E, 23rd Battalion Sharpshooters organized at Charleston, Tennessee, November 25, 1863. Tragically, George died during the war as a prisoner in Camp Chase, Ohio on 27 February 1865." From "The Heritage of Chambers County, Alabama" page 275 John H Willoughby was a son of Thomas Willoughby and Agness Hayes Willoughby. Thomas Willoughby moved to Chambers County in the 1830s. John was born in 1826 and married Maria Louisa HARDY on 5 Jan 1862, at the Residence of Jasper Harris in Chambers County. Maria Louisa HARDY was a sister of Elizabeth M HARDY, who married George Strother. Maria and Elizabeth were daughters of James McGrath HARDY and Elizabeth Ann BLAND HARDY, who were married in Richmond County, Georgia in 1820.
