Clark The following is a list of the graves at Old Bethlehem Cemetery near White Plains in Chambers County. This recording of epitaphs was made by Miss Gladys Phillips (now deceased) many years ago. The exact location of this cemtery is currently unknown to me. ROBERT T. MCKNIGHT born December 25, 1776, died November 21, 1841. Infant of M. M. SMITH born and died May 9, 1854. In Memory of an Infant of JOHN H. & EMILY A. BARNES born and died February 20, 1857. In Memory of ALEXANDER FOSTER, died March 7, 1859 being 46 years of age. He was appointed Postmaster at Bethlehem January 15, 1859. "Ye living men come and view the ground where you must shortly lie." In Memory of J. C. BRAWNER, son of B. H. and E. E. BRAWNER, born July 7, 1857, died June 4, 1859. "Farewell Sweet Son" T. W. H. SMITH born October 4, 1850, died September 25, 1851. In Memory of RILE J. TATE born August 20, 1826, died January 16, 1843. Infant of T. L. and S. SMITH born June 25, 1871, died September 4, 1871. M. E. W. wife of J. D. GRIFFITH born September 19, 1837, died February 14, 1852. In Memory of J. S. SMITH born November 10, 1837, died July 3, 1858. A large grave covered with rocks, burial was North to South instead of East to West. This is said to be an evil man who was hanged. Several other graves covered with rocks, and many sunken depressions in the ground with no markers.
