Crayton, Judge of Probate in and for Chambers Co., Ala The petition of Phillip Quattlebaum admin-istrator of the estate of Sarah F. Quattlebaum dec'd. Respectfully showeth _________your Honor, That the estate of which he is the adm'r as above is possessed of but three negroes named Nicy,and her child Charles (or Tab) about two years old & Charles a boy about 17._______. This is all the property of any kind which he has been able to find belonging to said estate. Petitioner further states that it is necessary to sell said slaves for the purpose of paying the debts of said estate _______ as to make distributing of it among the distributees. Petitioner also states that there are seven heirs of or distrib-tees of said estate (viz) 1. William W. Quattlebum, who lives in Talladega Co., Ala. 2. Elizabeth Bishop, the wife Benj. Bishop who with her husband resides in Chambers Co., Ala. 3. Mary Ann Allen, the wife of William Allen, who with her husband lives in Chambers Co., Ala. Page 2 of document 4. Andrew J. Quattlebum who lives in Benton Co. Ala. 5. Sarah Ann Bishop the wife of Jefferson Bishop who lives in Tallapoosa Co., Ala. 6. Oliver O. Quattlebum who lives in Chambers Co., Ala. 7. Margaret Ann Quattlebum who is a minor living with her brother in law & sister Jefferson Bishop in Tallapoosa Co., Ala. Petitioner prays that an order of to sell said slaves for the purpose of paying debts due by said estate may be granted after due publication thereof in the manner presented by him & as in duty ______. Quattlebaum, over the age of Twenty one years, of Tallapoosa County Ala., Margarett McManus, a minor, wife of Thomas McManus who is over the age of Twenty one years of the state of South Carolina.
