Williams et al. To Jeptha Harrington Deed The State of Alabama Chambers County } Know all men by these presents that we, John S. Prather & his wife Nancy Prather, George P. Gilder and his wife Lucy Gilder, John M. McMurry and his wife Winifred M. McMurry, Parham M. Thornton & his wife Penelope C. Thornton by their attorney in fact James L. Williams and James L. Williams, all of them being the only legal heirs and representatives of John J. Williams late of the county and state aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred Dollars which we acknowledge to have been paid by Jeptha Harrington to the said John J. Williams now deceased in his life time, and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said Jeptha Harrington his heirs executors, administrators and assigns and by these presents each and every of us hath remised, released and forever quit claim and by these presents do each and every of us remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said Jeptha Harrington his heirs and assigns all of the Estate and Estates interest property claim and demand whatsoever of us the said John S. Prather and his wife Nancy, George P. Gilder and his wife Lucy John M. McMurry and his wife Winifred M. Parham M. Thornton and his wife Penelope C. and James L. Williams, heirs and legal representatives as aforesaid in law and equity or otherwise howsoever, of into out of all that mesuage or tenement Plantation and tract of Land situate lying and being in the District of Lands subject to sale at Montgomery and know as the undivided half of the south half of section Twelve (12) in Township twenty one (21) of Range twenty Eight (28) lying and being in the state and County aforesaid, together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances whatsoever that beloning or in any wise appertaining and reversions and remainders and issues and profits thereof.— To have and to hold all and singular the premises aforesaid, with the appurtenances unto the said Jeptha Harrington his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and do behoof of the said Jeptha Harrington his heirs and assigns forever, so that neither of the within named parties, nor their heirs, nor any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under us shall or may at any time or times hereafter, have claim challenge or demand any Estate rights title or interest of, in to or out of the aforesaid premises with the appurtenances or any part or parcel thereof therefrom and thereof shall and will be actually excluded & forever debared by these presents. Gilder Lucy Gilder John M. McMurry Winifred M. McMurry Parham M. Thornton & Penelope C. Thornton on the day of the date therof and for the purpose therein specified. Given under my hand at office this the 16th day of January 1845.
