Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks (nee Redmond) was born April 15, 1848, converted and joined the M.E. Church South, when young married to Joseph Brooks, Dec. 9, 1869, and died Feb. 16, 1903. Brought up in a truly Christian home, and early impressed both by counsel and example with the importance of salvation, no wonder, she soon became a devout Christian activity, and the severe test of a year’s affliction prior to her death. As a mother, she was untiring in her efforts to all that she thought best for her children. As a wife, she was affectionately obedient, confiding in him to whom, she had given her hand and heart, and she was rewarded by being loved, and most tenderly cared for by all of her family. As a neighbor and friend, rind and obliging, already to promote the interests and pleasure of the community to the utmost of her ability. As a member of the church she was consistent in life, uncomplaining, hopeful. Her last sickness was protracted, but borne with patience and fortitude, for her faith was abiding and she knew in whom, she had trusted, and know that he was able to sustain her to the end of life’s journey. She died in peace and rests from her labors. - Her Pastor. It is strang that none of her children ever married and all lived togther as long as they lived.
