W. Hadaway Held Monday Funeral services for George Washington Hadaway, whose death occurred at his home Saturday afternoon, were held Monday at two o'clock at the Bethlehem Baptist church, at Glass, Ala., with Rev. O. C. Kidd of Riverview assisted by Rev. John Hadaway of LaGrange conducting the services. Burial followed in the Bethlehem cemetery, with Johnson and Blakely funeral directors in charge. Six grandsons of the deceased served as pall bearers. Mr. Hadaway was born in Troup county, Ga., January 12, 1851 and was 85 years of age at the time of his death. He had lived in the Valley for almost 80 yeas and was well known all over the county. His funeral was attended by hosts of friends from this section. He was a member of the Wehadkee Baptist church near Abbottsford. Surviving him are four daughters: Mrs. J. W. Pitts of Langdale, Miss Ida Lee Hadaway of Lanett, Mrs. Jim Sims of West Point, Ga., Mrs. W. H. Matthews of Hogansville, Ga. Five sons: J. T. Hadaway of Wabasso, Fla., W. D., E. A., R. D., and G. L. Hadaway all of Lanett. Fourty-four grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
