Valley Times News, Lanett, Alabama
 Mr. Niles Dudley Smith, 92, of Valley died Monday, April 8, 2002 at George H. 
Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
     Grave side services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at 
Fairfax Cemetery in Valley with the Rev. Danny Spear officiating.
     Mr. Smith is survived by his sister, Mildred Smith Bartlett of Valley; 
his sister-in-law, Marinelle Branch Smith of Valley; and several nieces and 
nephews.
     Born Dec. 16, 1909, in Notasulga, Ala., Mr. Smith was a graduate of 
Fairfax High School and attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. He 
retired from the Fairfax Mill, West Point Pepperell, Valley. He had been 
active in his church, Fairfax First Christian Church. He was preceded in death 
by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Frances Smith. He was the son of the late 
Florence Dudley Smith and Robert E. Smith Sr.
     The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and asks that 
memorials be made to Fairfax First Christian Church in Valley.
      McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point is handling arrangements.
