Funeral Services for
Jim Ruffin Tuesday
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lanett Baptist church for
Jim Ruffin, 39, who died at his home in Lanett after an illness of only  a week.
However, Mr. Ruffin had been in poor health for some time. The services were
conducted by Rev. S.L. Heath and Rev. Paul Weekley. Interment was in the Lanett
Cemetery, Johnson and Blakely funeral Directors, in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ruffin was born in Chambers County and was a member of the Baptist church in
Fredonia where he lived for many years. He had scores of friends in that
community as well as in the Valley who are deeply grieved at his passing.
Besides his wife, who was the former Miss Georgia Mae DeLoach, Mr. Ruffin is
survived by one son, James, aged 5; his mother, Mrs. Nancy Ruffin; two sistere,
Mrs. Marvin Tutton [Sallie Louise] Lanette, Mrs. Mary Moore [Mary Eliza] West
Point, RFD; three brothers, Johnnie Ruffin, Lanett; Ester Ruffin, West Point RFD
and William Ruffin, Langdale, AL
