Mr. Watkins

Lanett - Mr. Andrew Floyd Watkins, 84, of Lanett, died Sunday April 19, at East 
Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday April 20, at 4 p.m. at Calvary 
Baptist Church in Huguley with the Rev. John Cleveland, the Rev. Mark Smith, 
and the Rev. David Johnson. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in 
Lanett.
Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, Gennie Ree Watkins of Lanett; one 
daughter, Glenda Ree Gunter of LaFayette; one son, Floyd Watkins of Valley; 
four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Born September 6, 1907, and a native of Tallapoosa County, Mr. Watkins was a 
member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Watkins was a charter member of the 
Huguley Lions Club and the Valley High Quarterback Club. He was a veteran of 
World War II serving in the US Army. Mr. Watkins was a retired employe of West 
Point Pepperell's Lanett Bleachery and Dye works.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church 
in Huguley in memory of Mr. Watkins.
Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley is handling arrangements.
