Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, July 13, at LaFayette First Baptist Church with Reverends Bill Hand and John Watkins officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Watkins is survived by daughter, Glenda Ree Watkins Jimmerson (Jim) and son, Floyd Watkins (Barbara); granddaughters, Gina Ree Milner, Amy Watkins Smith (Jeff), Candi Jimmerson (Buck Roberson), Gianna Ree Jimmerson; grandsons, Andy Watkins (Michele), Alan Watkins (Kristi), Jamie (Amanda), Wesley, and Jonathan Porter Jimmerson; and great-grandchildren, Cole, JC, and Jeremiah Watkins, Isaac and Shelbie Smith, Kaytlin and Nathan Jimmerson, and Gabriel, Preston, and Reese Roberson; brothers, Leo (Francis), Warren (Betty), and Sanford (Mary Ann) Fuller; and sisters, Elether Crawley (Wilson), Earline Smith, and Dorothy Cox; honorary daughters, Cheryl Landrum (Bill) and Wanda Harmon Stich (John); and honorary granddaughter, Liz Brown. Mrs. Watkins, born in Elba, Alabama, on December 27, 1921, was the daughter of the late Benjamin Porter and Mattie Hussey Fuller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Watkins; sisters, Cleone Waldrop and Mable Ford; and brothers, LC Ived, and Edlow Fuller and Ed Jones. At her death, Mrs. Watkins was a member of the LaFayette First Baptist Church; however, before her move to LaFayette, she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Huguley, Alabama, for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her generosity, sense of humor, and commitment to her family endeared her to all who were fortunate to fall into the care of her loving heart.
