Mrs. Joel H. Weaver died of consumption at her home five miles north of town this (Monday) morning at 8 o’clock after an illness of several months duration, which she endured with Christian forbearance. From the April 19, 1905 issue of The LaFayette Sun Mrs. J. H. Weaver Death, the great leveler of the universe, has again visited a happy home in our midst and bore therefrom its guardian angel. Thus it was on last Monday morning at 8:30 o’clock the spirit of Mrs. J. H. Weaver quietly passed from earth to Heaven. She had been a painful sufferer for several months prior to her death, but bore it all without a murmur, and died in the full triumph of a living faith. Mrs. Weaver was a good woman. She filled the sphere of a faithful companion, a devoted mother, an obliging neighbor, a friend to the friendless and a mother to the motherless. She led a quiet peaceful life, and died as she had lived. She was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist Church and had been for a number of years. Never did human life, with its trials, sorrows and distresses, manifest itself more to the honor and glory of God than was demonstrated in the life of Mrs. Weaver. In all the duties of life she exemplified a most upright walk; in every transaction, both moral and spiritual, her highest aims and aspirations were to glorify God. She was a priceless jewel to her husband and children, and reared the latter to useful, moral and honorable habits, which fact was a great consolation to her in her last days on earth. She leaves a husband and six children, four boys and two girls, to mourn an irreparable loss, but the hallowed memory of a godly wife and mother will be cherished by them as long as they live. She was about fifty-five years old. Her maiden name was Pearson. Her remains were quietly laid to rest in the cemetery at Macedonia after comforting words spoken by Elder W. B. Morgan. Our unworthiness to speak of such a Christian character will bear out the deficiencies of this short sketch, and feeling that no pen can do this subject justice, we will stop, assuring the family of our heart-felt sympathy. One who loved her, Ina E. Abernathy. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/chambers/obits/w/weaver595ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/alfiles/ File size: 2.8 Kb
