H. Weaver. I have known and loved Mrs. Weaver from my earliest childhood, and while her death was not unexpected to me, it brought a shock and a peculiar feeling of sadness. It will seem so strange to go back to the old home and not be greeted by her kind face and low sweet voice. A faithful wife and mother, a kind and obliging neighbor, and earnest and devout Christian has gone to be with God. So long as she was permitted to do so, she never failed to visit and minister to the sick. My heart goes out in deepest sympathy to the bereaved husband and children, and I know that the void left by her absence seems one too sad to contemplate. But for her there shall be no pain or sorrow. She is at rest, Peace, everlasting peace, is her portion. Her whole life might be summed up in these words: “She was a good woman, and she had done what she could.” Mrs. S. H. Newman, Dadeville, Ala. (Note: Per “Survey of Cemeteries in Chambers County Alabama” there is a tombstone in the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery that reads: Samantha C. Weaver, wife of J. H. Weaver, Sept. 13, 1850 – April 10, 1905. She is buried between her husband Joel and an infant son.)
