Bernice Alline was the daughter of William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Funderbunk 
McClellan. She was born in Chambers County on April 14, 1921. On June 22, 1938 
she married Emmitt Lee Smith and she was the mother of four daughters. She died 
on January 19, 1989 in Chambers County and shares a double headstone with her 
husband in their family plot in Shawmut Cemetery.
