Feb 16, 1909 - Aug 17, 1973 Mary E. Jun 12, 1912 - Dec 9, 2003 Additional Comments: Sid was the fourth child born to William Thomas and Eula Mae Carter Smith in Texas on Feb. 16, 1909. In 1933 he married Miss Mary Emma Wood and together they raised their family of three daughters and two sons. Sid was an Auctioneer and he also was a member of the Valley Baptist Tabernacle. Emma was the daughter of James and Berilla Turner Wood and the wife of Sidney LaFayette Smith. She was born in Chambers County on June 12, 1912. She was retired from West Point Pepperell's Carter Mill and was the mother of five. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Norman N. Smith. She was 91 years old. Sid and Emma Smith share a double headstone.
