Alabama Divorces Approved by the State Legislature 1818-1868, Chambers and Randolph Counties, 31 Jan 1852
Caroline was living in Auburn, Macon Co, AL when she filed for divorce in
May 1851; she was granted a divorce on 31 Jan 1852 presumedly on the grounds 
of desertion.

Additional Comments:
I have NO clue where my GG-grandpa Walter Eugene Nunnelee was in 1850 but he 
must have been living since GG-grandma Caroline filed for divorce in May 1851.
He was a lawyer and perhaps he went "west" ? 
Since the Macon Co AL census was taken in Dec 1850, it is very possible that 
he was just not enumerated since most 1850 censuses were taken earlier in the 
year.  It is also possible that his surname Nunnelee was mutilated by the 
typist on the 1850 census index and therefore not retrievable even using a 
soundex search...however, there is no question that the actual handwritten 
spelling will be N-u-n-n-e-l-e-e
