I John Caldwell Sr. of the County of and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory and of a disposing disposition do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. Item the first: It is my will that I give unto my Granddaughter Mahaley Blankenhip one negro woman by the name of Barbary to her and her heirs forever. item 2nd: I give unto my Grandson John Caldwell son of Joshua Caldwell all that tract of land whereon I now live it being our quarter section. Item 3rd: I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Sintha Ricks one feather bed and furniture. Item 4th: I give unto my Grand Son Sincinatus Caldwell one sorrell filly. Item 5th: It is my will that all the balance of my Estate that is not heretofore given away that it be sold and the process arising from such sale be distributed in the following manner, that an equal division be made between my son Joshua Caldwell, my son William Caldwell and my Grandson Miles Caldwell. Item 6th: All the property that I have heretofore given unto my daughter Polly Gatten, and James Caldwell while in his life time andy my son John Caldwell while in his life time, I consider their full portion of my Estate and also all the property that I have heretofore given unto my son Samuel Caldwell while in his life time, I consider to be his portion of my Estate. I do here by appoint my Son Joshua Caldwell my lawful Executor to this my last will and testament in testimoney whereof I hereunto set my hand this 3rd day October 1839. /S/ John Caldwell Test: Thos.
