William Yancy WHITE, M.D. of Anniston, AL was born at Spring Garden in Cherokee 
Coutny, AL on Sept 29, 1860. He is the son of Barnabus Pace and Elizabeth Acker 
WHITE, both of whom are native Georgians. The Father and Mother were born in 
the same year, 1832 and in the saame village. Carnesville, GA. Both died in 
Spring Garden, the Father on Oct 12, 1898 and the Mother in 1890. Barnbus P. ws 
the son of Nathaniel Hunt and Martha Pace White, both natives of Virginia. He 
ws a resident of Georgia, bur removed in early manhood to Alabama, where he 
practiced medicine from 1856 until his death. He represented Cherokee County in 
the State legislative during one session. He was a member of the Masonic 
Order , and affliliated with the Presbyterian Church. His children are Sarah 
Eliza, Widow of W. H. Busbin, residing in Rome, Georgia, Jodie Wheeler, died in 
1883- Edward, a lawyer at Centre, Cherokee County, and Dr. William Yancey, who 
acquired his literary education in the public school, his medical education in 
Vanderbilt University. He was graduated in 1887, practiced medicine four years 
at Spring Garden, one year at Piedmont and since 1902 at Anniston. He is a 
member of Anderson lodge, Free and Accepted Mason, of Spring Garden, and of the 
Methodist Church. He, September 28, 1894 in Bedford, VA Married Mary, the 
daughter of Charles R and Sarah Booth Carder.Mrs. White is a member of Parker 
Memorial Baptist Church at Anniston.
