Coosa River News November 19, 1915
  The Governor has issued a parole for Henry C. Martin of Cherokee county, a 
white man who was sent up for life on November 16, 1899. Martin is 62 years of 
age at this time and according to the statements of Dr. J.M. Austin and Dr. R. 
A. Smith, he has but a short while to live.
  The relatives of the man killed have withdrawn their objection to his being 
paroled, in a s ense and The Governor, after hearing of his hopeless condition, 
issued a parole. According to the doctors he will never be able to work again, 
even if he should live for a while longer and as he has had an excellent record 
since incarceration, all these things went into the facts that led the the 
Governor to issue the parole
