“Aunt Betsey” Wilson.
	Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, whose maiden name was McDaniel, was born in 
South Carolina on the 1st of January 1828.  She was brought to Alabama, and to 
this neighborhood, by her parents when she was but two years old; and 
thereafter her life was spent on the farm on which she lived when she was 
overtaken by her last illness.
	On this farm she was reared to womanhood.  On it she lived when her 
young affections were won by the man who became her husband, when she was 
married, when her children were born, and when, at the age of 18, she was 
baptized into the Baptist church.
	In these times of change and restlessness, so settled a life is notable.
	Her husband, Hiram Wilson, died in 1862, when the younger of her two 
children was but an infant.  These children she reared to mature years, 
educating them, and preparing them by wise precepts and a good example for the 
practical duties of life.  The elder of these died some years ago.
	She was a good woman, of great activity and energy and capacity, a 
sincere christian, and an excellent neighbor and friend.  She was known and 
greatly esteemed over the three counties which corner near her late home.
	Her last illness, a prolonged one, was serious, but not hopeless, from 
the beginning.  After five weeks of suffering, it was thought advisable to 
remove her to the residence of her son, J.J. Wilson, in this place; but the 
change brought no improvement, and in a few days she sunk calmly into her last 
sleep.
	Her remains were lovingly laid away in the old family burying ground to 
await the summons to resurrection and eternal life.
