Cecil Little LOCATION: Clanton, AL LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE: 30º 22' 27"N, 88º 09' 20"W HISTORY: Two of the original Chilton County pioneer families, Popwell and Moore, are buried here. The site is on private property, but through the efforts of the Rev. Cecil Little and a committee of devoted genealogists and family historians, the land has been deeded forever to the descendants of the Moore and Popwell families. The Rev. Little and his committee, along with donations from other interested parties, have restored and fenced off the cemetery, which lies under an oak grove between two residential homes. DESCRIPTION: The cemetery is quite small, and is in the process of being cleared and restored. Several tombstones are missing, and some have recently been replaced with new stones.
