Chilton County 1880 Federal Census, Beat 1,2 and 8. While these were transcribed and proofed with great care I found several errors even after three different people had worked diligently on it. If you find any mistakes please inform me at . It is transcribed as accurately as possible I hope, with a few minor changes to make it more easily searchable on the net such as adding the surname's and family numbers to every line and separating the surnames and given names. Other than such we have tried to keep it as accurate as possible. Some obvious possible mistakes, misspellings, etc. have been left as is on purpose. I am more interested in an accurate transcription and will not try to guess at names that are not clear. Many names were not easily legable and a diligent reseacher should refer to the actual census and the soundex as well. Names that are not clear on the census may be very clear on the soundex. Many thanks to those that helped on this one. ------------------------------------------------------- Due to 8 character filenames the shorter versions of the index files may be confusing. ndxa_fr.txt surnames A-Fr ndxfu_mi.txt surnames Fu - Mi ndxmi_z.txt for surnames Mi-Z --------------------------------------------------- To make the transcription fit on a page it was nessesary to shorten the headings but some of them may be be misleading as such. The following full explainations of the columns should be used to explain any confusion. Some columns which apply to cities are not included in this transcription or this explanation. Columns are numbered as in the census and some of the first columns are not numbered. -------- Actual Transcription follows-------------------- 1. Dwelling house in order of visitation 2.
