Morris Holston L. Morris Holston Sr., age 67, of 2225 Henson, a longtime Abilene resident died at 5pm Wednesday at West Texas Medical Center after a six week illness. Services will be at 10am Saturday at Elliott Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. The Rev. Barry Beames, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial wil be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Born Nov. 6, 1913 in Silas, Ala., he married Goldie Wimberley May 18, 1931 in Abilene. He came to Abilene from Tulia in 1919. He was a member of Fairmont Methdist Church. He had been an auto mechanic and later was a wrestling promoter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Loyd in 1957 and Raymond Lee in 1935, and two brothers, Lester of Wichita Falls Aug. 26, 1980 and Bill of Anaheim, Calif., Nov. 4, 1980. Survivors include his wife; a son, L. Morris Holston Jr. of 2017 Kansas; three daughters ( they mean sisters), Berta Hike of Deming, NM, Birdie Halbrooks of Trent, and Louise Gass of El Paso; six grandchildren; and a great- grandson. The family will be at 766 Poplar. Additional Comments: Larry was born to Noel DeBose Holston and Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Giles who are buried in the Trent Cemetery in Taylor County Texas.
