A. D. LEE DIES Mrs. A. D. Lee, eighty-two years of age, died at the home of Mrs. Sam Powe in Silas, Wednesday, August 7th following an illness of several months. She came to Mrs. Powe's in January for a visit. She suffered a stroke which partly paralyzed her right side and speech. Part of the time of her illness was spent at the home of Mrs. L. D. Becton's and in the home of Raymond Lee, where she had made her home since her husband's death. Being a life-long resident of Choctaw County, she resided in the communities of Isney and Silas. Mrs. Lee was a member of the Baptist Church for 45 years. She was an active member and president of the W. M. S. for a number of years. Mrs. Lee was the mother of nine children of which six are living. She had 52 grandchildren and 79 great grandchildren and always remembered each one at Christmas with a gift. Funeral services were held in the Isney Baptist Church Friday morning at 11 o'clock August 9th, and conducted by Revs. H. O. Jordan, V. W. Malley and B. Johnson. Interment was in the church cemetery. Songs requested by her were: "Where We'll Never Grow Old" and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells". Active pallbearers were: Raymond Lee Jr., Earl M. Powe, Roy Lee, B. K. Smith, Berry Becton, and Howard Lee, all grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were also grandsons and flower girls were granddaughters. She is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. A. E. Singley of Bucatunna; Mrs. Dess Smith, Millry; Mrs. L. O. Becton, Silas; Mrs. Sam Powe, Silas; two sons, Raymond F. Lee, Silas and Claude G. Lee, Millry; one sister who resides in Girard, Kansas.
