The funeral was held May 5th at the Chapel of the Lathan Funeral Home. The Rev. Robin Sanders officiated. She was buried in the Coffeeville Cemetery. Mrs. Deas was born in the Winn community and lived her life in Clarke County before moving to Prattville. She taught for nine years at the Coffeeville High School and operated the Deas Grocery in Union Chapel for fifteen years. Her husband, Kenneth Mathias Deas, a daughter, Molly Rebecca Deas Andrews, her parents John Isreal and Clara Eugenia Leonard Cravey and five brothers and sisters all predeceased her. She was survived by a son, a daughter, three sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
