The introductory Semon was of preached by Rev. Wm T. Davis from lst John, lst chapter and 8th verse, then adjourned to 1:30 p.m. at which time the ministers and messengers returned to the house, and after singing and prayer by Bro. J. W. Sewell, the meeting was called to order by J. D. Rainwater. Letters from the churches were presented and read by Bros. Harvel and Anderson, and the clerk enrolled the messenger's names, as follows: Hatchcett Creek: J. V. Ponder, H. Ingram and James Parsons. Antioch: A.W. Dison, J.W. Sewell, T.J. Pitts and J.T. Branaw. Poll Bridge: John Parsons, C.C. Jones, G.T. Griffin and A. 0. Granet. Liberty: J.W. Walker. J.D. Rainwater, P.T. Wood, D.L. Riley and P.H. Burnes. Ashland: J.H. Nail and W. McMath. Spring Hill: John Danley. Liberty Hill: J.A. Brooks, J.J. Sargent, N.D. Stone, J.L. Kirkpatrick and S. A.G. Thomas. Bethel, Mt. Lebanon and Bowdon Grove not represented. On motion J.D. Rainwater was reelected moderator and S.A.G. Thomas as clerk Called for correspondents, and received as follows from 2ndd District: Bros, Anderson and Harvel. 4th District Rev. W.T. Davis Moderator appointed the following committees: On. preaching. Bros. Ingram and Wood. On queries, Bros. Ponder, Sewell and Walker. Adjourned till 8:30 Saturday morning. The stand was filled Friday night by Bros. Wesley and Harvel. Met Saturday morning pursuant to adjournment and taken up query No. 1: What did the Apostle Paul mean when he said, "One Lord, and One faith and one Baptism" After discussion by Bro. John Parsons, adjourned for two hours. The stand was occupied at 11 a.m. Saturday, by Bros. C. J. Wesley and H. Ingram. Pursuant to adjournment, the congregation assembled, in the house and after singing and prayer by Bro. J. W. Ponder, query No. 1, was reopened by Bro. Harvel, followed by Bro. Rainwater. Answer: "The one Lord, the true and living God, the one faith, that which works by love and purifies the heart, the one Baptism, that of water." Query No. 2 was called for: "Is close eommunion scriptural?" On motion was tabled. Query No. 3. was called for: "Was the church set up prior to the day of pentecost?." was tabled. On motion query No. 4 was taken up: "What is the church's duty toward its pastor? After discussion by Revs. M. M. Driver and P. H. Burnes answer: To sustain her pastor and bear him up in discharging his duty. Called for report on queries. Committee reported four queries for next session of this body, as follows: No. 1: What is the advantage of Sabbath schools to the church. No. 2: Can we scripturally retain a member in fellowship when convicted of any criminal offense in the courts, although they deny said charge? No. 3: What does the scriptures mean where it says ''Let the dead bury their dead?" No.4: What is the difference between John's baptism and the Apostle's baptism? Adjourned till 8 a.m. Sunday. The stand was occupied Saturday night by Bros, Morgan and Wesley. Met pursuant to adjournment and devoted two hours in prayer. Miscellaneous: Resolved, that this body tender to this church and vicinity it thank for the hospitality towards us during our slay among thorn. Appointed correspondents as follows: Second district. Bros. Ingram, Sargent and Rainwater. Third district, Bro. Burne. Fourth district, Bros. Walker, Nail and Newell. The next session of his body will he hold with Spring-Hill church. The stand was filled at 11 a. m. by M. M. Driver and H. Ingram from John 13 and 14. Thus closed a harmonious meeting.
