William Morrison, Rev. Samuel Moore, members of the Owen Family and others. Shiloh-Delta, Bethel-Delta and Hepsabah [Cleburne] Baptist Churches were all organized around the same time making them some of the oldest Churches in the in Old Randolph [Now Clay/Cleburne] County Alabama. A good many of the people listed below came from Blount County TN and Chester County SC. Also, can before found in the 1840 census in Lowndes County AL. In the late 1840's a wagon train left Randolph County Alabama for Texas. The travelers in this wagon train were: The Robert Caskey family, Kindred Knight family, Thomas Brittons family, members of the Owen family and other families in the area. There were many other hardships along the way including bad weather, difficulties crossing rivers and sickness. After the 1850 Randolph County census was compiled another wagon train left Randolph County Alabama by the way of Mobile AL, New Orleans LA, Shreveport LA and lastly Texas. A good many died along the way from a cholera epidemic. Many of the people listed below can be found in Henderson, Rusk, Smith and Wood County Texas in 1860 census along with other families from this area of Old Randolph County now Clay County. The Decoration at Shiloh-Delta was the first Sunday in May. It was an 'All day to do" meaning singing and preaching starting at 10am, then lunch and singing in the afternoon until about 3pm. Today some families still clean off and decorate the graves of their family members in the first week in May. The Church rival ran the first week in August starting on Sunday night through Friday night starting at 7pm and ending by 9:30pm. Of course, everyone would arrive about 6:15pm so they could visit before the services began.
