The church is said to have been organized in 1851, the organizer of the church is unknown. No records can be located showing the church as a member of any Baptist Association prior to the Carey Baptist Association. In 1891 the church had 72 members. The congregations have been very large and attentive, and much interest has been manifested at each service. The church is too small to accommodate the people who attend, and the citizens of that community would do well to erect a more commodious building.
