Clarke Co., GA: D-Bk. T-429 State of Georgia Clarke Co. 12 Jan. 1850 Know all men by these presents that Whereas Wm. Jennings of Acton Place, Georgia e near Long Medford in the County of Suffolk (England) and of Governor Square, London, died in the year 1798 Interstate possessed of a large fortune which estate amounted to Forty Millions of dollars, but the lawful heirs of which are supposed to be in the United States, and I, Nelson Jennings of the County of Randolph, State of Alabama, having reason to believe that I am lawfully and of right should be legatee of said estate WHEREAS I the said Nelson Jennings have nine (9) children living, VIZ; By my first wife three sons, Henry Jennings, Giles Jennings and Robert Jennings, and four daughters, Sicily, wife of Lewis Eidson; Mary, wife of Caleb Jennings, Amelia, widow of John Eidson, dec'd, and Lucinda Jennings who was never married, all of the county of Clarke, State of Georgia. And by my last wife, one daughter, Louisa Jennings and one son, Sanford Jennings, both of the county of Randolph, State of Alabama. Now therefore for and inconsideration and for love and affection which I have for my said children, I grant sell and convey unto each of them, my said children, the right to share equally with me the said Nelson Jennings in that legacy, and I have appointed my two sons Giles Jennings and Robert Jennings, and my grandson, Jefferson Jennings my attorney to collect said legacy. Giles R. born 1796, died 1865, in Clark County GA, married Mary Hogan 3. Lucinda born 1800, unmarried 4. Mary born 1801, married Caleb Jennings 5. Celia born 1803, died 1893, married Lewis Eidson 6. Amelia born 1804, died before 1850 married John Eidson 7. Robert Nelson born 1812, died 1881, Clark County GA married Louisa Stark Nelson Jennings married 2. Louisa- Children: 1. Louisa born 1825 3. Sanford Jennings born 1830 died 1911, married Sarah Bryant in Texas In the 1850 Randolph County Census, Nelson Jennings was living near Uriah, John and Jonathan Sprayberry, Harris Parrish, Jessie Ellard, if a guess was made, it is very possible he would be buried in Clay County, possibly in the Barfield- Delta area Additional Comments: It is suspected that Nelson Jennings is buried in Clay Co.
