** Mrs. W. L Character is my great grandmother. Her name was Mary Jane Mc 
Clain before marrying Wilson Lafayette Character on 11/23/1879.  W L Charcter 
died in 1906 & is buried in Old Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Clay Co.  Mary Jane 
died 1937 & is buried on Sand Mountain, Pisgah area (I visited her grave & 
have a picture of it).
