Auditor's Letter #1
THE CONFEDERATE STATES,

TO Joshua Horn, father of Joshua Horn Jr., deceased late Private of Capt. J K 
Ellitt Co. F 30th Reg Alabama Volunteers

For the pay from 31st August 1862 when last paid to 22nd May 1863 when he died 
eight months twenty two days at $11 month (chopped off) communtation for 
clothing from 5th November 1862 to 22 May 1863 date of death.  One hundred 
ninety five days at 37 cents per day (chopped off)

Payable to Joshua Horn Father of Dead

Additional Comments:
This letter is from the Auditor's office stating that there is pay due to the 
father of Joshua Jr (namely Joshua Sr) for pay that Joshua Jr did not receive 
prior to his death.
