B, 62nd Al. inf. Muster roll July & Aug. 1864 show him present, a . Prisoner of War records show that he was captured Apr. 9, 1865 at Blakely, Al.; transfered from Ship Island, Miss., to Vicksburg, Miss., May 1, 1865. He was received at Camp Townsend, May 6, 1865 on parole for exchange. John applied for a pension Sept. 14, 1925. It was approved Sept. 28, 1925. He stated that he lived at Box 142, Bremond, Tex., Robertson Co. He said he had lived in Texas for about 49 years.
