At 9 o'clock a.m., the house was called to order by J. B. Dean. After singing two songs, prayer was led by Brother C. R. Morris. On motion the following officers were elected: J. B. Dean, Chairman, Mack Johnston, Secretary. The chairman then appointed J. W. Parsons, G. T. Wright, J. T. Cofield as committee on arrangements. 1st Lesson: -- Mack Johnston, G. M. Green, J. B. Watts, J. W. Bolt, M. B. Wallace Recess five minutes 2nd Lesson -- R. M. Ray, Ed Headrick, L. H. Jackson of Tallapoosa county; E. E. McCullough of Alexander City; Mrs. J. C. Brown of Gadsden. Recess five minutes. 3rd leson: -- W. I. Lowe, J. A. Brown of Gadsden; T. J. Shivers of Daviston; W. J. Shaddix. Then a fine address was delivered by Senator W. B. Nolen, extending a cordial welcome to all visitors. Dismissed one hour for refreshments which were very bountifully served by the ladies of Ashland and surrounding communities. Afternoon Session House called to order by Chairman J. B. Dean. Music by Dr. T. M. Summerlin, E. M. McCullough of Alexander City; Miss Beatrice Thompson of Gadsden; J. C. Brown of Gadsden; W. H. Reynolds of Anniston; A. L. Hanks of Talladega. Then good talks ere made by Congressman-Elect A. L. Patterson and T. C. Radney of Alexander City.
