Rt. 1, was burned severely yesterday afternoon when the can of fuel oil which she was pouring on a fire in a stove exploded, covering her with the burning liquid and setting the house on fire. The girl was taken to Anniston Memorial Hospital immediately in an ambulance for treatment of the second- and third-degree burns which cover from two thirds to four fifths of her body. She was reported to have spent a fairly good night by medical authorities, though her condition is critical. Windows in her home were blown out when the five-gallon can exploded and set the house on fire. The fire, however, was extinguished by a sprinkler system installed in the house.
