Goodwater Enterprise September 18, 1930
Tal Carr of Clay Co. was arrested Thursday evening about 5 o'clock near 
Millerville by Chief Bonner of Goodwater and brought back to Goodwater and 
placed in jail. He was charged with speeding, driving under influence of liquor 
and being drunk, Bond was fixed at $300. Which he gave Friday morning and was 
released. The arrest following a hot chase from Goodwater on the part of Chief 
Bonner. Carr came through Goodwater at a high rate of speeding a new model 
Chevrolet.
Chief Bonner deputized a Mr. Summers, of Clay who happened to be in town and 
together with a Mr. Ogborn left here in Mr. Summers Ford and gave chase. The car 
was caught up with about one mile on this side of Millerville, when Mr. Carr 
left his car and took to the woods. A woman in the Carr machine drove on and was 
not arrested.
