Clay County Advanced January 17, 1896
A serious accident happened to David Hassell at his sawmill near Flat Rock this 
county last Wednesday morning. The saw was running slowly, and Mr. Hassell was 
adjusting some part of the machinery when he lost his balance and fell in front 
of the saw, which inflicted some ugly gashes on his bead, and lace. The wounds 
may prove fatal.

Additional Comments:
Mr. Hassell recovered and lived until 1932.
