Below will be found an account of the explosion by which Wesabulga Know-Nothing Lodge suddenly found itself blown into the air on the night of 5th of July. The reports of these volcanic eruptions are becoming more constant every day. Democrats, if you would escape the bitter pangs of unavailing remorse, come out from this Order, which will assuredly, if it succeeds, ruin the country: "The members of the wigwam met in council last night. The house was called to order, when the President, taking his seat, requested those who wished to withdraw to come forward and do so, before proceeding to business. At this juncture, Col. Woodruff, arose from his seat, and made some cutting remarks in opposition to the Order, setting before the eyes of the people the Constitution of the State and of the United States, with much eloquence and applause. Mr. Elijah Hammonds then arose and made a touching speech, which received the approbation of nearly all the members present. On motion, all who desired a dismissal were requested to arose from their seats, when more than two-thirds arose, and had their names blotted from their documents. On motion, we quit the Lodge, screaming in chorus, "Huzza for S.W. Harris and the Nominees". There are but a few left, say six or more, mostly Whigs. We, as a portion of the Democratic party of Randolph County, would advise the friends of Democracy to beware of the Know-Nothing organization; for in this part of the county their manifest intention is to overthrow the Democratic party of the country. We say let the organization roll back to the North, whence it came. We are yours, sincerely, Benjamin East, Pinkney East, John Caudrev, [Condry?] A.D. Jordan, Lark W. Woodruff. Z.R. East, Hiram Thomaston, Wm R. East, D. M. Black, G. W. Walker, A. G. Littlefield Wm Harrison, M. M. McMullen, Leroy Waits, Elijah Hammonds, M. H. Lambert, Irwin Woodruff.
