This term will close one of the brightest in the days of Hatchett Creek school and with Prof. Pitts at the helm, we predict that the next term will be still more prosperous. If our people continue to look forward to the interest of the community as they have for the past few years Hatchett Creek will soon become the banner spot of education in East Alabama. We have just completed an elegant schoolhouse which will stand as an ornament to the community. We have two new church houses and need another, which, I think, we will set in the near future, as the building committee of Hatchett Creek church will meet on May 24th, 1890, at 2 p.m. for the purpose of bidding off the house, and those who desire to put in bids are requested to be there on that day.
