Mr. Jenkins bad carried his shot gun to the field with him on Friday afternoon and in removing it from the wagon at night the weapon became entangled in the lines and was discharged. The entire load of shot struck him squarely in the stomach and inflicted a horrible wound. Several physicians were summoned, and an operation decided upon, but the chances of his recovery are extremely slim, according to reports which reached the city on Saturday. Miss Noble Jenkins, sister of the wounded man, who is clerking at the Louis Plzitz store here, was called to her home Saturday by the serious condition of her brother.
