People's Party Advocate September 15, 1893
The store of Messrs. J, P. Motley & Co., of beat 11, was burglarized one night 
this week, and suspicion was at once centered on one Marion Johnson, of that 
community, and when arrested a number of the missing articles was found in his 
possession. Johnson was given a hearing before Justice of the Peace A. H. 
Fargason, who set the bond at $300, and the justice not being authorized to 
approve the bond, Johnson was brought to this place Wednesday and placed in jail.
