Luker, 39, of Bessemer, Rt. 7, was recovered from the Tallapoosa River Saturday afternoon after he apparently drowned while on an outing with his two sons. The two boys are missing and are presumed drowned, according to a spokesman for the Randolph County Sheriff. Luker and his two sons, Bobby and George, eight and twelve years old, were on the river in the area of Foster's bridge when the mishap occurred. An extensive search for the bodies of the boys was still underway late into Saturday night. Foster's Bridge is on the Tallapoosa some 15-20 miles south of Hollis Crossroads. Participating in the search are State Troopers, the Randolph County Sheriff's office, Anniston Rescue Squad, Cleburne County Rescue Squad, and the Talladega Rescue Squad. Search operations in the area are being hampered because of darkness, thickness of undergrowth, and river conditions. Police said Luker was a Baptist minister. Additional Comments: Note: All three are buried in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Clay County, AL.
