Alexander City Outlook June 30, 1938
Mrs. Ed Wright was among the 118 relatives and friends who attended a birthday 
dinner Sunday given in honor of Mrs. Mary C. Kennedy, celebrating her 93rd 
birthday. After the crowd was gathered around the table a poem "Beautiful 
Grandmother", was given by Pauline McDaniel. Following this Mrs. C.N. Gregg, 
graced the table. Needless to say, a lunch spread under the shade trees, with 
Mrs. Kenady seated at the head was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Kennedy especially 
enjoyed the day, and she received a number of gifts. There were five different 
generations attending. She is the mother of seven children; Four are living. She 
has 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her 
home is at Sikesville, near Wadley.
