Lineville Headlight June 9, 1916
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. McCain Sunday June 4th was held a glad reunion. 
It being grandpa's 72nd birthday. All the children and grandchildren who are 
living were present as well as many friends. We all carried dinner and about 12 
o'clock it was spread out in the shade of some large apple trees. There were many 
beautified flowers brought which, with their sweetness and the music we tried to 
make, made every heart feel glad. Grandpa was as lively as an eighteen-year-old 
boy, and if he never has another reunion here on earth, we hope to meet all in a 
better world some day and have a great reunion around the throne of God where 
many of our dear ones have gone.  
His granddaughter, Hattie McCormick.
